Our chapel program is off to a great start! In elementary chapel we have learned some simple and fun songs that praise Jesus. (Hand motions may be involved!) We’ve starting talking about the fruits of the spirit and how we can activate them in our daily lives. This year’s theme for MS/HS chapel is “What’s Next?” in our relationship with God. The student council has chosen this theme and the key verse, Joshua 1:9. Kara Brown from Salem Alliance, last year’s spring spiritual emphasis week speaker, kicked off chapel with a message about our unique and purposeful individual creation by God. We have also enjoyed worship each week led by our student worship team. This dedicated group of students practices during small group time each Wednesday to prepare meaningful worship for chapel. Our Fall spiritual emphasis week is coming up Nov. 13-15. Nathan Ensz, pastor of Kingwood Bible Church in West Salem, will speak about different ways we can pursue God in seeking our “what’s next,” as well as ways He pursues us. We are anticipating this week of additional focus on worshiping and listening to our Heavenly Father.
