FAQ

Admissions

Contact Kirsten Brown our Admissions Specialist with questions.

What does the admissions process look like?

The first step in the Admissions Process is setting up a tour to visit campus. An online application for each new student needs to be completed by a parent. Once the application has been submitted and all supporting documents have been received, the admissions committee will school will reach out one of three ways: a letter of acceptance, a letter of acceptance noting that the student has been placed on our waiting list, or a piece of correspondence indicating that more information is needed before a decision can be made. The final step is an invitation to complete an online enrollment packet that consists of parent approvals and financial commitments. Families that would like to pursue financial assistance must do so after the student has been accepted by completing our Scholarship Forms online.

How long does the admissions process take?

The admissions process takes from one to two weeks, from the time the application is submitted until final acceptance. Once the application is submitted, the school will request documentation and recommendations directly from the sources listed on the application.  Any testing, as well as shadow day (6th-12th grades), if desired, will be set up at that time. Once all required information has been received and reviewed, the admissions decision will be communicated. An application isn’t considered for enrollment until all supplementary documentation has been received. Our admissions team is happy to answer any further questions that may arise throughout the application process.

Is Western affiliated with one church or denomination?

Founded in 1945 as Western Mennonite School, primarily serving Mennonite families from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Canada. Western has grown to serve a broader demographic, and in 2017, our name was officially changed to Western Christian School. Today, Western students represent 10+ denominations and over 65 churches in the Willamette Valley.
